External Hemorrhoids Pictures - What are External Hemorrhoids Treatment
Hemorrhoids have two types: the internal and the external hemorrhoids.  Unlike internal hemorrhoids that have grown inside the anal canal, external hemorrhoids occur outside of the anal verge.  This sac-like protrusion found outside the anus is often characterized by itchiness (pruritus ani), pain, irritation and swelling.

  • Sclerotherapy is also another possible treatment for external hemorrhoids.
  • A certain chemical solution is being injected to the affected area which help in the shrinking of the hemorrhoids.
  • Treating external hemorrhoids is not limited, however, to medical procedures alone.
  • Natural means of healing and prevention can also be applied which includes: :D
Wearing of comfortable under wears. Avoid wearing tight-fitting under wears because this will give no room for your external hemorrhoids and might increase pressure towards it, causing more pain.

Altering the diet to incorporate fiber-enriched foods that can loosen stools and prevent constipation.  A change in the diet also includes avoidance from meaty and processed foods.  It also entails the inclusion of water intake.  At least eight glasses of water per day should be consumed in order to sustain the smooth flow of digestion and easy defecation. There has been a gradual introduction to the world of Hemorrhoid forum projected in this article. We had done this so that the actual meaning of the article will sink within you.

One of the best treatment for external hemorrhoids is surgery or what is known as hemorrhoidectomy.  In this surgical procedure, the swollen tissue is being scraped off using a scalpel.  Patient who undergo this kind of treatment is being given an anesthesia (local or general - depending on the state of the victim).  Based on testimonies of people who have undergone this kind of treatment, hemorrhoidectomy has a longer-effect despite the intense pain that was felt after the operation.  Surgery is always being recommended to large-sized hemorrhoids that have already complicated to the point that it already causes so much discomfort and pain to the patient. :D.

Normally, tissues that bulge and protrude outside the anus is considered as external hemorrhoids; however, there are some instances wherein internal hemorrhoids, due to its worst state, have grown terribly to the point that it protrudes until outside the anal canal (this is also known as prolapsed internal hemorrhoids).

Laser Beam is Also Another Treatment Option for External Hemorrhoids
Laser is also deemed by many as the fastest treatment among other treatments for hemorrhoids in terms of conducting the treatment procedure.  Laser treatment is applicable to small and medium sizes of hemorrhoids.

Another Procedure is the Rubber Hand Ligation
This is the most famous non-surgical external hemorrhoid treatment for ex since this can be applicable to both small and medium sizes of hemorrhoids.  In rubber band ligation procedure, a rubber band is being wrapped around the sac-like protrusion.  The rubber band will serve as an instrument that will restrict the flow of blood circulation in the affected area.  Lack of blood flow in the hemorrhoids will help in its shrinking, and then, to its eventual healing.

  • Hemorrhoid symptoms in general can include one or more of the following:   Pain around the anus when sitting, standing or walking.
  • Pain at the anus on passing a motion.
Itching Around the Anus can Become Intense and Very Unpleasant
A burning sensation around the anus can also be quite unpleasant.   Bleeding is another common sign of hemorrhoids, especially into the stool. Bright red blood is suggestive of hemorrhoids, while very dark or black blood is more suggestive of other complaints higher inside.

Prolapsed Hemorrhoids Look Like a Small Bunch of Tiny Grapes
Thrombosed hemorrhoids look big and tight for the most part.   The normal color of prolapsed hemorrhoids is reddish pink, while a thrombosed one is often bluish, while an external one is often brownish. Internal ones you can not see, but they are pinky red too. ;)

Prolapsed hemorrhoids are 'graded' by doctors according to their symptoms, the more they show outside and the harder they are to keep inside, the higher the grade given to them. When symptoms are diagnosed at a grade four level, a hemorrhoidectomy may well be suggested. We are proud to say we have dominance in the say of External Hemorrhoids. This is because we have read vastly and extensively on External Hemorrhoids.

External Hemorrhoids Treatment and It's Causes and Symptoms

  • Discomfort on passing a motion.
  • Discomfort - feeling you need to go, but nothing comes out.
  • All the straining just makes things worse by the way.
The Best Way to Diagnose is to See Your Health Professional
For most people this will normally be their doctor. The doctor or other health professional will look at your symptoms and may suggest the need for more definitive tests to obtain an accurate diagnosis or grade your hemorrhoids to help work out which medical or alternative treatment may be the best way of helping you.

  • Just a general feeling of discomfort from the anal area.
  • Leakage of stool can be a very smelly and a very uncomfortable symptom.
  • Leakage can also lead to the feelings of burning and itching, as it can cause a nappy rash type reaction.
Feeling the hemorrhoids when washing can sometimes really scare someone for the first time. Prolapsed hemorrhoids - hemorrhoids that develop inside but 'fall' out - and external hemorrhoids - hemorrhoids that develop outside - are two types of hemorrhoids that can be felt while bathing. The former often feels like a dangly bit, while the external ones feel like a small lump. The development of Hemorrhoids Symptoms has been explained in detail in this article on Hemorrhoids Symptoms. Read it to find something interesting and surprising!

Intense pain can be caused by thrombosed hemorrhoids, for the most past such pain is unbearable and you'll most likely head to the hospital or doctor. :)

Treating Hemorrhoids
How to choose the least painful and most suitable option    After consulting various specialists, each recommending his own pet method of treatment, a hemorrhoid sufferer gets online medical advice for choosing the least painful and most suitable treatment option.

Stapled hemorrhoidectomy: This is relatively a new technique and is in practice for ten years. In all aspects it is an operation and must take place in the hospital. Patients report on less post operative pain compared to Milligan-Morgan operation and hospital stay is usually 1 day. The success rate is about the same as the former but there is one exception: the stapler technique is not effective for treatment of Hemorrhoids with an external component. The initial stages of this article on Hemorrhoids proved to be difficult. However, with hard work and perseverance, we have succeeded in providing an interesting and informative article for you to read.

The ExpertS Opinion
First of all I must emphasis that I have some doubt concerning the medical diagnosis and that some important details are missing. The medical report did not describe the physical rectal examination regarding the external anal component. This is important for choosing the best surgical technique and I will assume that there is no external component.

Rubber Band Ligation;
Milligan-Morgan technique;      Cryotherapy;      Stapler.    The patient specified that each specialist consulted only practices the technique that he personally deems most efficient. The problem raised, therefore, is that each specialist believes his technique (stapler, cryotherapy, ligation, etc.) to be the best, strongly advising against other techniques (without, however, clarifying the reasons for this). Purely based on acquaintances' experiences with the treatment, and the excellent results obtained, the patient would tend towards opting for cryotherapy (which would appear to be the least invasive, cheapest, and simplest technique, as it is generally carried out as an outpatient, with no particular preparation or hospital stay required).

After being diagnosed with 'hemorrhoidal pathology" (3rd degree hemorrhoids, polyp in the anal canal), the 37 year-old male patient consulted various medical services and specialists, who each suggested different medical treatment methods:

  • So, which of the previously specified techniques can be considered best in terms of least sufferance during and post surgery?
  • And which technique would allow the patient to return to normal activity (including non-competitive sports) the quickest?
Milligan-Morgan operation: This is one of the most frequent techniques practiced. The operation is usually performed under general anesthesia, but spinal anesthesia can be used. The long term results are over 90% patient satisfaction. Pain is considered to be the main reason that patients resist the operation. It is evident that pain experienced after the operation is patient dependent. Hospital stay is about 1-2 days, but return to work is not for at least two weeks. :D.

Rubber-band ligation: complications are infrequent with rubber-band ligation. Pain is usually mild and can be managed with analgesics. Return to work can be immediately or the day after treatment. The results of rubber-band ligation have been excellent with patient satisfaction of 80 to 91%. It must be emphasized that optimal treatment consist of 2-4 sessions with at least two weeks interval and depends on the number of hemorrhoids to be treated.

Options of Treatment
Cryotherapy: (the option the patient mentioned he was leaning toward) this is a painful procedure, frequently associated with a profuse discharge and at least a week off work. Only about 50% of patients are well satisfied with the treatment. In terms of morbidity and time off work it is slightly better than hemorrhoidectomy, but the long term results are less predictable. It has more complications than does rubber-band ligation. Most proctologists have abandoned this technique.
